Stefano Parrino - Flute

Francesco Parrino - Violin

Maria Cecilia Berioli - Cello

Luca Ranieri - Viola

Quartetto Viotti was born following the desire of four prominent musicians to promote the tradition of chamber music with an innovative and open-minded attitude.

The extended repertoire of the ensemble widens from original and innovative readings of canonical pieces to accurate rediscoveries of less-known chamber music composers. On the other hand, Quartetto Viotti also collaborates with contemporary authors.

The name of the ensemble pays tribute to the Italian musician and composer Giovanni Battista Viotti (1755-1824), virtuous violinist and innovative contributor to the development of European culture.

The passion and wide experience of the ensemble guarantee a memorable performance thanks to Quartet expressive quality and richness of sound.

Stefano Parrino – Flute

Stefano’s career both as a soloist and chamber musician has marked several prestigious music venues in Europe, North and South America. Alongside the concert activity, Stefano is a researcher and professor at the Conservatory of Messina (Italy) and his breathing techniques are internationally recognized and practiced.

After attending musical and humanistic studies in UK, Italy and The Netherlands, Francesco started his musician career, playing as soloist or with orchestras in dozens of different countries, including Hong Kong. Francesco is also a renowned musicologist and lecturer at the Universities of Cambridge, London, Oxford and York. He is currently a professor at the Conservatory of Genoa (Italy).

Maria Cecilia Berioli – Cello

After winning eminent prizes and scholarships in Italy and Switzerland, Maria Cecilia has toured throughout Asia, Europe, North America and Africa as a soloist and chamber musician. Currently artistic director of UmbriaEnsemble and Quartetto Viotti, she has
recorded several albums during her career for BMQ, Sony, Quadrivium among others.

Luca Ranieri – Viola
